Loffredo’s fresh-cut processing history goes back to 1970 with only two employees peeling potatoes and shredding fresh lettuce. Throughout the years, additional product lines were developed, growing the fresh-cut department to 32 people in 1998 and eventually reaching 104 employees by 2007.

Processing fresh produce out of the back of Loffredo’s distribution center was not going to meet the increasing product demand from customers for long. In 2014, Loffredo expanded their fresh-cut department to over 250 dedicated employees and built a state of the art 50,000 square foot processing facility, just outside of Des Moines, Iowa. On November 3, 2014, Produce Innovations was born.

Chopping, slicing, dicing & peeling, Produce Innovations provides our customers with a fresh-cut competitive edge.  Produce Innovations produces safe, fresh, value-added, pre-cut ingredients packaged in bulk and individual portion sizes to meet our client’s needs.
