John King From J. King’s Food Service Professional Awarded Outstanding CEO Honor

John King, founder and Chief customer officer of J.Kings, a broadline food distributor located in Holtsville, recently received the 2013 Outstanding CEO award from Long Island Business News.
Outstanding CEO Awards are given to Long Island’s top executives whose innovations and commitment to the community have shaped the Long Island economy.

As founder and Chief Customer Officer of J.Kings, John King has taken a part-time venture and grown it into a multi-faceted food service distribution business with more than 400 employees and annual sales of about $200 million. Innovation and commitment to local independent businesses has been the key to John’s success. John has always thought of J.Kings as more than a distributor, constantly offering his customers new and innovative ideas along with value-added marketing services and educational seminars to help build their businesses. Constantly looking to better serve its customers has led J.Kings to open its manufacturing, cold storage, marketing, agricultural enterprise terminal, fun food and commercial real estate ventures.

“ We always talked about where we want to go and what we want to be when we grow up” John said “The interesting part is that we had no idea that we were going to build a business the size that it is”.

J.Kings is not only invested in growing local businesses, but it is also invested in preserving the Long Island community. On top of donating to numerous Long Island charities, John King serves on the boards for the Southside Hospital Community Board, the Police Athletic League, Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York and Telecare TV.
